The Angel of my life…
I knew her for about 2 months. She was my friend’s sister. She was the sweetest person I ever knew, the person who is so generous and cares ‘so’ much that you would wish to be with her for a long time. I loved talking to her, we spoke on simple things, on life, and she made me view things differently.
2 days before my Class 12 examination, my friend called me and informed me about her accident. The news shattered me. The person I wished to have along with me the entire life was no more! The incident shook my world. It took me days to let reality sink in…
She came into my life and taught me so many things. I still ask her to guide me. She had promised me that she would meet me at the end of my exams… God’s plans are never known. Indeed!
They say ‘life moves on’. It did, but at the slowest rate possible. Not a day goes by without thinking about her. It has been 3 years and 7 months and still I shudder at the sound of an ambulance.
Sometimes I hope it was all a dream and that I would find her online…

The little things in life...
Hello everybody..! I know it has been ages since I updated my blog. I was so caught up with assignments and stuff that I couldn’t write down a lot of things that kept crossing my mind in these 2 months. :(
Being so busy and tied up with work all the time made me realize that we keep running to get ahead in life, to make ourselves better than others, to compete and to excel in everything, that we miss out on the little things in life. Right from the time we wake up till the time we go back to bed completing the circle of our chores in a day, we tend to miss out or ignore the small things that would give us real happiness…
In our busy schedule, try to make some time for absolute randomness. Call your close friend, talk about something, talk about nothing… enjoy a cup of tea just by yourself, with no thoughts crossing your mind… have an ice cream in the rain(my personal favorite)… give a nice tight hug to your parents… talk to a dog or cat (it’s equally fun)!!
It indeed works! It would bring a smile across your face in a day that is going bad.
Appreciate the little things in life as they only make way to better memories…:)

COUSINS
Recently, I had been to
my cousin’s place. It had been years since I met her. After the “HI’s” and
“Hello’s”, she started talking to my sister more, than to me!
Being the youngest in
the family, I always felt left out among my cousins. Most of them are settled
abroad and are in constant touch with each other and my sister since they are
of the same age. I come to know what they are up to by seeing their Facebook status.
It feels as if they are the “known strangers”, to me.
Cousins are the most
blissful part of a family. They are the ones to be with you no matter what, to
support you in issues… Except for only one
cousin of mine, others still consider me as a “kid”. When we meet in a family
function or marriage, all they say is “Wow! Aren’t you grown…!”
It has been ages since
“just the cousins” have been on a trip or met at someone’s place and caught up.
I can’t force the family time on them. Each one is busy getting settled that
they are forgetting the ‘quality time’. Cousins are also the people to carry
forward the family name, traditions. Creating a group in Facebook can never be
the same as meeting and having fun! I asked my father what would be the
condition of the next generation cousins. All he did was smile. Keeping
themselves busy with their gadgets, they forget about family and cousins. So, just make that call
or mail your cousins. It might be weird at first, but it will turn out to be
the best time spent. It would be years before my cousins consider me “grown
up.”
Take that step, make
that call. After all, family comes first!
